Rohit Sharma's Test average would've dropped to 30s in England: Sanjay Manjrekar

Former India cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar feels Rohit Sharma's Test average would've taken a massive hit had he played in the upcoming series against England. Rohit announced his retirement just ahead of the all-important series as Shubman Gill has been announced as the new skipper. Recently, Manjrekar compared Rohit and Virat Kohli's Test careers as they bid adieu to the longest format. The former batter mentioned Rohit's lack of hundreds in the SENA countries and said that his average would've dropped down to 30s, had he gone to England to play. "Virat Kohli has got 12 hundreds. Rohit Sharma in SENA countries — just the one, against England at The Oval in 2021. And I dare say, had he gone to England, that average would have dropped into the 30s. So, when it comes to red-ball cricket I say, RoKo, stop that," said Manjrekar in a video shared on his Instagram account.
